Acoustic guitar fingerpicking is the main wooden voice on this eclectic collection of spirited instrumentals. Sometimes joyous. Sometimes reflective. Whether gracefully complex or simply beautiful, this diverse collection takes the listener on a soothing journey of sound and speaks from the heart . . . gently . . . clearly . . . sincerely. These 16 original pieces emerged and grew over a period of 30 years. Although they were written literally all over the world (eg. Alaska, Belize, Amsterdam, England, Wyoming, etc.) and were inspired and influenced by diverse cultures and experiences, the rich acoustic guitar tones provide a common thread tying it all together. Tupes guitar can speak many languages through tempo. melody and style. This music is simply arranged so the warmth, depth and subtlety of the acoustic guitar is not lost. There are several other wooden voices joining in that add variety and interest including mandolin, harmonica, 12-string guitar, acoustic bass guitar, tele guitar, banjo, didgeridoo, twin fiddles, classic violin and various wooden percussion textures. Most of the instruments were played by Tupe . . . Janey adds dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, percussion, and subtle background vocal textures. This diverse collection of pleasing pieces featuring the acoustic guitar and the other mellow wooden instrumentation is both relaxing and rejuvenating . . . a satisfying pick-me-up that simply makes you feel good. Naturally. |

(This is a real 8' guitar at a luthier's shop in Paracho, Mexico.) Listener Comments What a delight to have Tupelos music playing in our clinic; somehow hes created tunes that embody the perfect balance of healing serenity and gentle attentiveness in his music, that we strive for in our work. We all manage to breathe more deeply when his CDs are playing. - Amber Leigh Wolf, PhD, Director, Phoenix Healing Center, Longmont, CO
